New York Hospitality Group is a company with deep roots in White Plains and Westchester County. Most people don’t know the name, but they do know the brands including Sam’s of Gedney Way (www.samsofgedneyway.com), Caperberry Events (www.caperberryevents.com), CV Rich Mansion (www.cvrich.com), and the Great American Barbecue (thegreatamericanbbq.com). These businesses, although separate, do one thing exceptionally well…they host highly customized events that leave lasting memories with their guests.
New York Hospitality Group wanted to improve the way that they communicated each of their properties uniqueness, but also show what each of the properties share in common. Following lots of great discussion with the owners and the team, we came up with new positioning and messaging that unites all the brands under one umbrella, “Your Moments Made Memorable”. This new positioning and messaging is now being communicated through a fully integrated Marketing Plan we built including radio, direct mail, email, and shared across all their social platforms. Credit and thanks to Jill Singer Graphics (www.jillsingergraphics.com) for bringing it all to life visually.

Skillman Marketing took an umbrella approach to really focus our Marketing efforts, starting with asking the right questions and really learning about our ever expanding business. Uniting our brands under one central message has made our communications more efficient, making our marketing spend go further and enhancing our sales efforts across our portfolio of brands.
This past January, the Pleasantville, NY community lost a bright young light, a smart, athletic, engaging and caring young man named Brian T. Halloran. After a few years battling depression, Brian took his own life after returning to college for his second semester freshman year.
Out of their deep sadness and grief, the Halloran family has established the Brian T. Halloran (BTH) Foundation. The BTH Foundation is committed to “Break the Hold” on Mental Illness and provide education about suicide prevention.
Please visit the newly launched website www.bthfoundation.org to learn more about Brian’s journey, the mission of the BTH Foundation and how you can help.
Skillman Marketing provided the navigation and content for the site. Thank you to Rick Wolf and Edward Raus for collaborating with me on this.
Underwater Adventures is a 10 year old Scuba Diving company based in Summit, NJ that offers Scuba lessons, certification, dive trips, and a retail shop. While the company has a loyal group of diving enthusiasts, Skillman Marketing was engaged to take a fresh look at the business to identify new opportunities for growth. Together, we built a Marketing Plan to encourage more in person visits to their retail shop and ways to communicate more consistently with existing and potential new diving participants.

“We approached Skillman Marketing to help jump start the marketing for our business. As a small company we were caught up in the day-to-day activities of running the business and needed a new approach to increase sales. Skillman came up with a game plan to help us jump start our retail sales with promotions to increase traffic as well as helping us focus on growth areas in our education and travel segments.”
